Adam Cowart, MAI

Principal

Adam is a third-generation hotelier having earned a bachelor's degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, with a minor in Business Administration from Auburn University. Adam worked in operations at Sonesta Hotels in Miami and Sheraton Hotels in Atlanta before joining Cowart Hospitality Services, LLC in 2006. In 2016 Adam and John Ritger formed Core Hospitality Advisors, LLP, which separated out the appraisal and consulting segment of Cowart Hospitality Services, LLC. Adam was awarded the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 2013. He is licensed in 5 states in the southeast US.


John Ritger

Principal

John earned his bachelor's degrees in Finance and Risk Management & Insurance from the University of Georgia in 2004. John worked as a Senior Associate in the Risk Advisory Services practice for KPMG, LLP and later was a Senior Valuation Analyst for Hunter Hotels hotel brokerage from 2007–2012 before joining Cowart Hospitality Services, LLC in 2012. John received his Certified General Appraisal License in 2015 and is pursuing his MAI designation. John brings an important analytical perspective and transact ional experience to the client/business. John and Adam Cowart formed Core Hospitality Advisors, LLP, which separated out the appraisal and consulting segment of Cowart Hospitality Services, LLC.


J. Michael "Mike" Cowart

Senior Appraiser

Mike grew up in a family hotel business that started in the 1950s with the third Holiday Inn franchise and later opened Cowart Hospitality Services, LLC in 1994. Mike has since completed over 1,000 appraisal and consulting assignments nationwide. He is licensed in 10 states in the southeast and southwest US.


Elaine Phares

Research Manager / Business Development

Elaine is the backbone to this company, managing our research efforts. This allows us to focus on the appraisal work and be able to reduce our delivery time. Her primary goal is managing our in-house database, which tracks hotel sales, listings, construction costs, PIP renovations and a variety of other useful market data for actual hotels. She maintains contact with numerous hotel brokers and other market participants, which allows us to directly confirm sale information with a party to the transaction in a timely manner.
